Where We Come From
Blue Door was founded in 2022 by Nate Schott, following nearly a decade of placing leadership talent in middle-market family-owned, closely held, and private equity-backed companies. He recognized a need in the real estate, construction, and home services industries for a search partner who understands how these businesses operate and how the right leader impacts performance and culture.
Blue Door focuses exclusively on this segment, prioritizing relationships, fit, and lasting impact over volume of placements.
Nate is based in Columbus, Ohio, and works with clients nationwide. He is a graduate of Miami University (Finance), an endurance athlete (Full Ironman Lake Placid, solo 12-mile Lake Tahoe swim, 8-mile Mackinac Island swim, Kilimanjaro summit), an Eagle Scout, and serves on the Board of Directors for Cristo Rey Columbus and participates annually in Pelotonia.
